Trying to prove a point to this job helper.
Reblogged from rosy-edsI’m tired of social anxiety being ignored so much by teachers and adults. They think it’s nothing that we can just get over it. Social Anxiety isn’t that fucking easy it’s exhausting and stressful and sometimes makes me actually want to jump infront of a bus out of the sheer embarrassment I get from doing something as simple as sharpening my pencil.
Frankly, teachers really should care more because it’s very distracting. I can’t count the number of times I didn’t focus in class because I was mentally freaking out about how I just dropped my book or if I coughed too loud five minutes ago. Especially teachers who call on kids that don’t speak. When will they realize that we don’t speak for a reason that we keep every detail to ourselves because we are constanly uncomfortable and worried about how we look, what we do, how we act.
It’s not just big stuff like talking infront of the class or something either. It’s also the small stuff like if we were an octave too loud while answering a question and now everyone thinks we’re weird, or how we sit there for ten minutes bracing ourselves to throw a wrapper away and everyone is watching as you walk across the room and you somehow think did I walk to weird? Too fast? We’re my footsteps too fucking loud??
Social Anxiety fucking sucks and not everyone will get to experience how terrible it really is just to interact with people the only time we feel comfortable is with people we probably took weeks to get to know. So please, be more aware and be more thoughtful because it Social Anxiety really does destroy me and probably many other people
To everybody who is afraid to wear summer clothes because of their weight, scars, gender, etc - I love you and I am rooting for us all to feel at home and at peace with our bodies 🌷🌷🌷
